If you have ever wished that there was some sort of fine, non-bleeding pen available in a variety of colours, that you could use to draw designs that could be easily and reliably removed from the fabric without using moisture, then we have the perfect product for you.
Introducing the Pilot Frixion range of pens – undoubtedly invented with someone other than embroiderers in mind, nevertheless, these pens tick all the boxes when it comes to transferring or drawing designs onto fabric. This range uses a gel ink that is heat sensitive and the marks can easily be removed in a number of ways. Each pen has a rounded plastic ‘eraser’ on the end that can be rubbed rapidly over the pen lines. This friction (hence the name) causes heat that results in the lines disappearing. Alternatively, you can use an iron to achieve the same effect or, if the fabric cannot be ironed, simply use a hair dryer.
If, after removal, you do wish to reinstate the lines, just pop your fabric into the freezer and at -20°C (-4°F), the marks will reappear.
